There are those who classify the Bible as a
mere collection of myths, that is, something beyond the realm of truth.
It is therefore imperative for us to examine the words written in the Bible
if indeed they have the attributes of the words of God.
04C.1
What is the quality of God's words?
In John 17:17 Our Lord Jesus Christ testifies,
thus:
"Sanctify them by Your
truth. Your word is truth." (NKJV)
God's word is truth.
04C.2
What does it mean that the words of God is truth and why it is said to be
the truth?
This is God's guarantee concerning His words:
"Calling a bird of prey from
the east, The man who executes My counsel, from a far country.
Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I
have purposed it; I will also do it." (Is.46:11, NKJV)
God's word is truth because it has fulfillment.
Rightfully so because God said, "I have spoken it I will also bring it to pass."
Thus, the words of God differs from the words
of man. Unlike man's words which are oftentimes proven false and go
unfulfilled,
04C.3 Comparatively, are man's word always true?
In the following verses these are written:
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he
should repent:
hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he
not make it good? (Nm:23:19, KJV)
And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not
with God: for with God all things are possible. (Mk:10:27, KJV)
No, man's word cannot always be true, as man is capable of lying and
04C.4 What is the proof
that the words
of God will come true?
In Isaiah 46:9-11, this is written:
Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else;
I am God, and there is none like me,
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the
things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I
will do all my pleasure:
Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel
from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to
pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it. (Is:46:9-11, KJV)
The one true God can declare the end from the beginning, and from
the ancient times the things that are not yet done. He will bring it to
pass what He has spoken, and He will do what He has purposed.
04C.5
Why can God
declare the end from the beginning and bring to pass what
He has spoken?
In the following verses, this are written:
For with God nothing shall be impossible. (Lk:1:37, KJV)
And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not
with God: for with God all things are possible. (Mk:10:27, KJV)
Because with God nothing is impossible,
with God all things are possible.
