08C.   Gods Role in Man's Existence

Man must realize that he was created and chosen by God for Himself and that God is indispensable in his life.  When some feel an empty space in their lives despite their worldly possession and achievements, they begin to ask:  What could be missing and lacking in their lives that creates and leaves such a great void within them?

What they are really looking for is something to fill a void that is in each person, a vacuum that is put there by God and can be filled only by Him. It is God's way of making sure each person—even those who don't believe in Him—keep searching until they find Him and the purpose of life He has for them.

08C.1   What are the things God alone could provide?

  Psalms 4: 6-8 states:

"There are many who pray:  'Give us more blessing, O Lord.  Look on us with kindness!'   But the joy that you have given is more than they will ever have with all their grain and wine.  When I lie down,  I go to sleep in  peace;  you alone, O lord, keep me perfectly safe."  (Today English Version)

Man must come to realize and understand that the Lord God Almighty is indispensable in his life.  God is not only the best provider of material blessings but He is the only source of lasting joy, peace, and perfect safety.

08C.2    How does the Bible depict the unequalled role of God in our existence?

The bible tell us how significant God is in our lives. A great part of it is described in the following verses of the Bible.

  • He is our creator . . .Isaiah 44:24
:"I am the Lord, your savior; I am the one who created you. I am the Lord, the Creator of all things. I alone stretch out the heavens; when I made the earth, no one helped me." ( TEV)
  • He gives us life . . .Job:33:4:
The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. (KJV)
  • In him we move and have our beings . . .Acts:17:28:
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. (KJV)
  • He saves us from distress . . . Ps:107:19:
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. (NKJV)
  • Riches and Honor come from Him . . . 1Chronicles 29:12:
Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; in Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. (NKJV)
  • He can give us what we need. . . . . . . Matthew 7:7-11
    7. "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8. "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9. "Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10. "Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11. "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! (NKJV)

Man must realize that he was created and chosen by God for Himself and that God is indispensable in his life.  He needs the Lord in every aspect of his life. He needs the Lord to live a worthy and fulfilling life.

God is indeed everything in man's life. Without God in his life, man will continue to feel an inexplicable emptiness that no amount of earthy possession can feel or satisfy.
