Many people do not know or vaguely understand that there
exist two distinct and different man in each human being, respectively in need
of their own kind of food for their survival. This fact is not based on the
terms "split personality" and human nature taught in psychology, but upon the
writings of the Holy Bible. This study is of vital importance for
everyone, as he will come to
have a clear definition and
understanding of the concept
and reality of human
existence based on the words
of God written in the Holy Bible.
14A.1 What
are the two man in every human being according to the Holy Scriptures?
In II Corinthians 4:16 this is written:
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
(NKJV)
The same verse in other versions of the
Bible:
Therefore we do not lose heart,
but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.
(New American Standard Version)
That is why there is no weakening on our
part, and instead, though this outer man of ours may be falling into
decay, the inner man is renewed day by day. (The Jerusalem Bible)
We are the outward or outer man and the
inward or inner man, according to Apostle
Paul. Therefore, we have the outer and inner man in us, distinct
and different from each other in the sense that while the outer man waste
away, the inner man is renewed from day to day.
14A.2 What is the
outward or outer man
in each of us that waste away and dies?
Our Lord Jesus points out in Matthew 26:41:
"Watch out and pray so that you will
not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is
weak." (NIV)
The outward or outer man is our outer being, our physical
body.
This outer man in each of us is weak and is subject to physical vulnerabilities.
14A.3 What is the
inward or inner man in each of us?
We find the answer in Job 14:22:
But his flesh upon him
shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn. (KJV)
The inward or inner man which is
within every human being is the soul. Comparatively, the flesh or
body which is the outer man shall feel the
pain, while his soul which is the inner man shall mourn.
Unlike the body, the inner man—the soul, is invisible which
cannot be seen nor touched for it has no material nor physical form.
14A.4 What does Christ say about the
value of man's soul?
In Mark 8:36-37, our Lord Jesus Christ says:
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall
gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (KJV)
The same verse, in the New Living Translation of the Bible:
And how do you benefit if you gain the whole
world but lose your own soul* in the process? Is anything worth
more than your soul? (NLT)
A man's soul is worth more than anything else in this world.
It is more valuable than all material things a man can acquire in this
world.
14A.5 Is our
soul of great value in the eyes of God?
In 1Peter 3:4, this is recorded:
but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible ornament of a gentle and quiet spirit,
which is very precious in the sight of God (NKJV)
The same verse in another version of the Bible:
but let it be the hidden man
of the heart, in the incorruptible apparel of a meek and quiet spirit,
which is in the sight of God of great price. (American Standard
Version)
A man's soul is very precious or of great price or value in the
sight
of God. The "hidden man or person" mentioned in the
verse refers to the inner man or soul.
_____________
It is very important to know that a man's
soul is very precious and of great value in the sight of to God. It is worth
more than anything else, and more valuable than all material things a man
can acquire in this world.
