God gifted
man with reasoning and intelligence, so
it is but natural for him to doubt,
inquire and investigate anything that is
of his interest. Religion must be one of
the things that he must not let go
without scrutiny. Religion is not
something so inexplicable that it should
be avoided,
but an essential truth for a man to
understand, for the eternal benefit of
his soul.
01A.1
What is this
essential truth that all men should
understand for the eternal benefit of
his soul?
In 1 Timothy 2:3-4,
Apostle Paul made clear the will of
God.
For
this is good and acceptable in the
sight of God our Savior, who desires
all men to be saved and to come to
the knowledge of the truth.
(NKJV)
God,
through His words written in the Bible,
wants all men to know of His gracious
desire that all men should be saved.
But for man to benefit
from God's grace,
God's will is for men to to come to the knowledge of
the truth. If a person wants to be
saved, he must know the truth on how he
can be saved.
01A.2
What will this truth do to men, so he
can be saved?
In John
8:32, the Lord Jesus said:
"And you shall know the truth,
and the truth shall make you
free.''
(John
8:32
NKJV)
Knowing
the truth will set man free.
01A.3
From what does man need to be freed?
In
John 8:34-36, the Lord Jesus
explained further:
Jesus
answered them, "Most assuredly, I
say to you, whoever commits sin
is a slave of sin. "And a slave
does not abide in the house forever,
but a son abides forever.
"Therefore if the Son makes you
free, you shall be free indeed. (NKJV)
The Lord
clarifies that whoever commits sin
is slave to sin, therefore, it is
from sin that men needs to be freed.
The will of God, is for men to
strive to know the truth, so he can be
freed from sin if he wants to be
saved.
Thus, a man who is seeking the truth:
As man's restlessness in seeking the truth
mounts, God will see his earnest effort
to find it. God will be pleased, and
let him find it.
"And
you will seek Me and find Me,
when you search for Me with all
your heart." (Jeremiah
29:13,
NKJV)
Let us
find, uncover or come to know the truth
by studying the words of God that are written in
the Holy Bible.
