01D  Don't Be Fooled When Seeking The Truth

The proliferation of preachers nowadays, will make it more difficult for those who are seeking the knowledge of the truth to find it. For there will be more preachers who will lead or lure them away from the truth written in the bible.

In II Corinthians 11:3, the Apostles made clear their apprehensions:

But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.  (NKJV)

The same verse in other versions of the Bible:

But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. (TNIV)

However, I am afraid that just as the serpent deceived Eve by its tricks, so your minds may somehow be lured away from sincere and pure devotion to Christ. (IEB)

Apostle Paul feared that just as Satan deceived or tricked Eve, your minds may also be corrupted (led astray or lured away) from the simplicity that is in Christ.

01D.1   How would the devil deceive people and lead them away from the simplicity that is in Christ?

In Matthew 24:11, this is written:

"Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. ((ASV)

The same verse in another version of the Bible:

"And many false religious teachers will come. They will fool many people and will turn them to the wrong way." (Mt. 24:11, New Life New Testament)

The devil will use many false prophets or false religious teachers and preachers to mislead many people or will turn them the wrong way—away from the truth that is written in the bible.

01D2   How will these False Preachers mislead or fool people and turn them the wrong way?

In 2 Thessalonians 2:10, it is explained:

"And use every kind of wicked deceit on those who will perish. they will perish because they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved." (TEV)

The same verse in another version of the Bible:

He will use every kind of wicked deception to fool those who are on their way to destruction because they refuse to believe the truth that would save them. (NLT)

They will use every kind of wicked deceit to fool everyone.

Why are these people considered fooled?
Because, they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved—that is the truth written in the Bible.  They were tricked to believe what is false. Just because these False Preachers also hold a bible in hand, they easily came to believe what they preach is true, without verifying it first, if it it is written in the bible.

What is the consequences if one is fooled?
If one is fooled, he is made to believe what is false, thus, jeopardizing the salvation of his soul. As the verse says, "they are on their way to destruction".

Not all who hold the bible in hand will preach the truth written in the bible, so anyone who wants to know the truth must make sure if these preachers are teaching the truth as written in the bible.
