36C.1
Is it God Himself who will judge
the world in righteousness? Did God appointed someone who will do the
judgment for Him?
In Acts 17:31, this is written:
because he has fixed
a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he
has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all men by raising
him from the dead." (RSV)
The same verse in
another version of the Bible:
God has set a day when He will judge the whole world. He will be fair, using a man to do this. He chose this man a long time ago. God proved it to everyone by raising that man from death!''
(IEB)
- God will not judge the world by Himself.
- But, He will judge
the world in righteousness using a man He has chosen a long time ago
- and
He gave assurance to all men by raising Him from the dead.
36C.2
Who is the man who was raised
from the dead by God and who will come to judge the world in righteousness?
In I Corinthians 15:20-23, this is recorded:
But in fact Christ has been
raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.
For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of
the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all
be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits,
then at his coming those who belong to Christ. (RSV)
Christ is the man who was
raised from the dead by God.
Christ is the man whom God will use to judge
the world in righteousness. (Acts 17:31)
_____________
God will not judge the world by Himself.
But, He will judge
the world in righteousness by a man whom He has chosen a long time ago. Christ is the man who was
raised by God from the dead and who was chosen to judge the world
on His second coming and to put into effect the resurrection of the dead—
to those who belong to Him.
