36D.1 What will happen to the world on
Judgment Day at
the second coming of Christ?
This is pictured by Apostle Peter in II Peter 3:7,10:
But the heavens and the earth which now exist are kept in store by the same word,
reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
(NKJV)
That is the horrible picture of the world on Judgment Day;
- all ungodly
men will perish
- the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise
- the
elements will melt with fervent heat,
- the earth and everything on it will be burned
up.
This is the painful truth about the catastrophic
"end of the
world" on Judgment Day.
36D.2 How
does the Prophet
Zephaniah portray the events on Day of the Lords wrath or Anger?
In Zephaniah 1:14-18, on the Day of the Lord's wrath:
The great day of the Lord is near; it is near and hastens quickly.
The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter; there the mighty men shall cry out.
That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of devastation and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
a day of trumpet and alarm against the fortified cities and against the high towers.
"I will bring distress upon men, and they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord; their blood shall be poured out like dust, and their flesh like refuse.''
Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of His jealousy, for He will make speedy riddance of all those who dwell in the land.
Prophet Zephaniah describe the events that
will happen on the Day of the Lord's Wrath or Anger:
How soon will this be?
It is near and hastening fast, says
the Prophet of God.
