46D.    3rd: Repent For All The Sins He Committed

Hearing the message from a Preacher of God and accepting or joyfully welcoming the message are the prerequisite of this important step toward salvation.

46D.1   What did the Apostle Peter said when asked "what to do to be saved?"

In Acts 2:37-38, Apostle Peter answered:

37. Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?''
38. Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (NKJV)

Apostle Peter instructed them to "repent".  Repentance is one of the keys to salvation.

let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. (1 Peter 3:11, NKJV)

A repentant man is one who shuns evil doings and does only what is good. He must seek peace and pursue it till the end of his life.

46D.2   Why is there a need for repentance?

In Acts 3:19, this is written:

"Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; (NAS)

The same verse in another version of the Bible:

So now repent and turn to Him, to have your sins wiped out, that times of revival may come from the presence of the Lord, (WNT)

Man must repent so he can return to God, that his sins will be wiped out or forgiven by God.

What will happen if man's sins are wiped out or forgiven by God?

In the last part of Acts 3:19, this is written:

"Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; (NAS)

Man's relationship with God will be refreshed, revived or renewed.

46D.3   Why is repentance so important in order to refresh and revived man's relationship to God?

In Job 13:23-24, this is written:

How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me know my transgression and my sin.  Why do You hide Your face, and regard me as Your enemy? (NKJV)

Because God consider man, the sinner, as His enemy.
Therefore, man must repent so he can return to God
, that his sins will be wiped out or forgiven by God. Man's relationship with God cannot be refreshed or revived without the forgiveness of man's sins.
