After hearing the message from a Preacher of God
and accepting or joyfully welcoming the message
or Gospel, man must repent for all his sins,
and only then he can return to God through
baptism in the name of Christ in the One Body.
In Acts 2:38, Peter said to them:
Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and
let every one of you be baptized in the
name of Jesus Christ for the remission
of sins; and you shall receive the
gift of the Holy Spirit. (NKJV

Why is baptism required so
man can return to God?
In Romans
6:3-4, we are told:
Do you not know that all of us who
have been baptized into Christ Jesus
were baptized into his death? We
were buried therefore with him by
baptism into death, so that as Christ
was raised from the dead by the glory of
the Father, we too might walk in
newness of life. (RSV)
Baptism in
the name of Christ is
needed for a man to be forgiven of his sins, so he can walk once more
in the newness of life.
Why is this called
"Baptism into death of Christ"?
Symbolically by Baptism into death, man
will be buried with Christ (that is
man's old sinful self),
so that as Christ
was raised from the dead by the glory of
the Father, man too will be raise anew,
so he too might walk in
newness of life.

How does baptism
and returning to God come together for the
salvation of man?
New American Standard
Acts 3:19 "Therefore repent and return,
so that your sins may be wiped away,
in order that times of refreshing may
come from the presence of the Lord;
Baptism is part of God's way for
man to return to God.
Thus,
Baptism in the name of Christ, is God's way for a sinful man to walk
once more in the newness of life, so that
times of refreshing may come from the
presence of the Lord.
Thus, a sinful man, who is considered
an enemy of God, may once again
become right in the sight of God, and
may be called a child of God.
