Salvation, as it is preached today by many preachers of different churches and beliefs, confuses a lot of people.

• Many people think that they can go directly to God. A constant direct prayer to God is better.
• Many people practice self religion, disregarding the need of a church or religion. They think that they can get to heaven by living a holy life.
• Many are comfortable in what they call practical or logical way of worshipping God.
• Some wealthy people think that gifts and donations to poor people are more godly ways of living than going to church.
• Many people think that they will be saved just by having faith in Jesus.
• Many people think that all religions will lead men to God and be saved on the day of judgment.
• Many hear preacher after preacher, weighing conflicting doctrines and beliefs but still unsure on how he can be truly saved.

The fact that there exist a lot of ideas and concept on how man can attain salvation, means that a lot of people are confused and does not have the true knowledge about salvation.   Considering the seriousness of the subject, no one can afford to be mistaken, particularly with regard to how one can be truly saved. 

26A.1   To avoid confusion and jeopardizing his soul, to what should man turn to, so as to find out what he needs to know about salvation?  What could make man wise unto salvation?

In II Tim. 3:15 this is written:

and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. (NKJV)

Everything man needs to know about salvation is in the Bible.  Speculations and opinions are totally useless and are in fact destructive to man for they deviate from the truth.  What is written in the Bible is the truth man needs for salvation.
