In the ancient times, God's wrath or anger was
revealed in the flood that came upon the earth
that covered even the tops of the highest
mountains. As a result all that breathe the
breath of life, died with the exception of
Noah's family and the animals that stayed in the
ark.
Only eight souls, namely Noah, his wife,
his three sons and their wives were saved.
Also in the olden days, during the time of
Abraham and Lot, God's wrath was revealed in the
fire and brimstone that rained on Sodom and
Gomorrah. The cities were totally destroyed
together with all the inhabitants. Only Lot and
his two daughters were saved.
The above
destruction are but a preview of the far greater
destruction that will come to the world when it
will end on the Day of Judgment on the second
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
26B.1
From what do men need to be saved?
In Romans 5:8-9, this is stated:
"But God shows His love for
us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Since,
therefore, we are now justified by his blood, much more shall we be
saved by him from the wrath of God." (RSV)
The same verse in another version:
But God has shown us
how much he loves us -- it was still while we were sinners that
Christ died for us! But his sacrificial death we are now put
right with God; how much more, then, will we be saved by him
from God's anger! (TEV)
Man need to be saved from the wrath or
anger of God.
